Coaching
Coaching is vital to the long-term development of the sport of bowls.
Coach Bowls is the only nationally recognised coaching qualification for the sport of bowls in England – the latest course availability can be found below.
Qualifications are delivered in partnership with 1st 4 Sport, as the awarding body, and all successful candidates receive an externally accredited qualification that is regulated by Ofqual (The Government body for the award of national qualifications).
Coach Bowls qualifications are wholly recommended by Bowls England and the English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd.
Coach Bowls uses the UK Coaching Framework as a guideline for development, and its stated aim is to provide ‘a world class bowls coaching system for all’.

In addition to the Coach Bowls scheme which is aimed at bowlers wanting to become Coaches, the County has a number of existing Coaches who are trained under the EBCS (English Bowls Coaching Society). Our NGB (National Governing Body) which is the EIBA, recognises the accreditation of EBCS Coaches gained prior to 2016 as per the BDA statement of 30/11/18, therefore the County adopts the same policy.
We are currently trying to collate a database of ALL trained Coaches within Middlesex (shown below) which will be updated once the information has been recieved from the Clubs within Middlesex.
